This website provides information about nutrition, fitness and sleep. When we go about our hectic lives, it's easy to neglect these aspects of life. However, even small changes can go a long way.



Nutrition


Good nutrition keeps our bodies healthy and functioning properly. Good nutrition consists of both macronutrients (fats, proteins, carbs, sugar, and fiber), as well as micronutrients. Micronutrients are things such as vitamins, minerals antioxidants, and sodium. Nutrition is necessary to keep us alive.



Fitness


Health and fitness can be scary for beginners. A lot of people are self-concious about their appearance while at the gym or fear they will look "dumb" for not how to use the exercise equipment. However, working out at the gym on a regular basis can be empowering and lead to more self-confidence by doing something to better yourself.



Sleep


Sleep is a very important aspect of our lives that few people think about. However, sleep affects our physical and mental health as well as our ability to function in life. There are 5 stages of the sleep cycle. Stage 1 where we drift in and out of sleep. Stage 2 sleep is when our brain waves slow down and our eye movements stop. Stage 3 and 4 is when we get into deep sleep. Finally, REM sleep is when dreams appear. We need sleep to survive.

When developing a healthier lifestyle, not every day will be perfect. Some days will be better than others. The journey is not a race, but a marathon.
